Welcome and Thank You for visiting our website!
My name is Pastor Mark R. Thomas. I have the
privilege of being the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist
Bible Church since its beginnings in 1988. I like to
tell folk, as a fledgling work, we began our ministry
without hymn books, a communion set, property, or a
building of our own. However, God blessed us with
people who held in their hearts the most important
ingredient for beginning a new ministry...
a sincere
desire to establish a work that would honor and
glorify God. By God's grace, that vision has never
been lost. That desire continues to burn in the heart
of this pastor and people.
In a day when people tend to gravitate to the church
that best suits their life style, it has never been
our desire to please people first. That is reflected
in our music, preaching, and teaching. The impact
that contemporary Christian music, the glut of modern
translations, and the emphasis of trying to reach
people through worldly methods, are not to be found
in our ministry. Our music is beautiful and honoring
to our Lord. We use such music sources as Majesty
Music, the Wilds, Bible Truth Music, Soundforth, etc. We preach and teach only from the King James Version
of the Bible.
We firmly believe that the purpose of
the local church is to honor God by strengthening and
preparing God's people to serve the Lord where they
live, work, go to school, and play. We are unwilling
to use what God says we should not love, the world, to
reach the lost. 1 John 2:15-17
As much as we call CBBC our church, we gladly affirm
that our work belongs to the Lord; and it is our
privilege to be a part of this ministry.
It is a joy to see how the Lord has blessed our work
through the years of our ministry's existence.
We have
been blessed by God with almost twelve acres of
property upon which our buildings set. Our facilities
include a church auditorium, nursery, pastor's
office, foyer, and restrooms which were completed in
1994. In 2005 God graciously blessed us with our
newest building addition which houses two permanent
classrooms, an open fellowship hall (which converts
into classrooms), and a nicely furnished kitchen. To
God be the glory, great things He has done!
It is my sincere hope, that if you are looking for a
church like ours, that you might consider visiting our
services some time soon. It would be a great joy to
meet you.
Thank you for visiting our website today!
Yours, because of Calvary,
Mark R. Thomas, Pastor
